Where do I send my device to?
We accept mail-ins at our retail store location. The address is as follows.
Rossmann Repair Group Inc 186 1st Avenue, Frnt 1New York, NY, 10009United States (347) 552-2258How does this work? Do I pay for a service, or call you, or what?
If you know exactly what is wrong with your device, you can purchase a service by browsing through the mail in section(click here) of our website. Add a service to your cart, check out via the website, and print out your receipt. Box up your laptop and send it to the address in RED above, include your receipt in the box,and you're set.
I don't have time for any of that checking out, adding services to cart nonsense. I'm clueless. I have no idea what to buy, what to click, or what to do. Just figure it out for me.
We get it. Write down on a piece of paper what's wrong with your Macbook, put the piece of paper in a box along with your laptop, and send it to the following address. We will tell you for free what the cost to repair your problem is and send you a bill for the repairs once they are completed. If you choose not to repair your machine, you are only on the hook for return shipping. Do keep in mind that the further you are from us, the higher the cost of the return shipping. The address is as follows.
Rossmann Repair Group Inc 186 1st Avenue, Frnt 1New York, NY, 10009United States (347) 552-2258What if I can't include a receipt in the box?
If you cannot include a receipt in the box, or do not have a functioning laptop to print with - just write your order # on a piece of paper and put it in the box. Make sure it's in there somewhere we can see it, and write your order # on the side of the box.
What if I have no idea what is wrong with it?
You can always send your device to us after checking out with the free estimate service(click here). We offer free estimates. This means we will figure out what is wrong with your device for free, and tell you what your options are. You will receive an email notification with a ticket once your laptop is checked into our system.
So you will figure out what is wrong with it for free?
Yes. The only fees you would incur would be paying to transport the laptop to us.
How much is return shipping to get my device back to me?
We offer free return shipping of your device, so we'll send it back to you if you have service done. If you decline to have the device repaired, there is a $20 return shipping fee for devices where we do not perform a repair within the contiental U.S. Free shipping is exclusively for devices which we do repair within the continental United States. For larger, heavier devices, an additional fee for shipping may apply, or we may send it back without insurance if the shipping for your device reaches over $20.
Do you send me a label or send me a box?
No. Free shipping means free shipping back to you after we fix your laptop, it doesn't mean we pay for you to ship it here.
Why not?
All of that costs money, money that we'd rather spend on tools to repair your device. We've invested over $20,000 in the tools we use to repair your laptop(click for more info), rather than waste time coding an algorithm that does what you can already do yourself. The money and time spent printing labels for every customer could be better spent investing in the intellectual pursuit of repairing Macbook logic boards, which we do on premises. If you ask most of the companes that offer label printing for you to send your laptop to them, you'll find they're likely not doing the work themselves, which is how they find the time for all of this fluff like automated shipping label printing.
Do you offer free international shipping?
NO!! We are not looking to go bankrupt. Shipping ranges from $50 to $70 for international orders. We understand if this seems expensive, and strongly suggest that you pursue receiving service in your country of origin before considering sending a device halfway around the world for us to repair it. We'll fix it, but we just can't deal with the back and forth whining about international shipping charges that so often occur even after we have spelled them out. We have piles of boards just sitting here waiting to go back to customers who do not want to pay customs duties or shipping to their country and it just winds up a big waste of time for all involved.
How long does a repair take?
This really depends on what you're having done. Most screen repairs are done the same day. Same for keyboards, trackpads. Data recovery can be anywhere from one day to a month, motherboard repair can take anywhere from an hour to six weeks depending on the severity of the issue. For your particular situation, feel free to email or call us to enquire about the turnaround time for your particular device.
DO NOT SEND US A BOX, CHARGER, OR CASING YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE BACK! WE TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR CHARGER, LAPTOP BAG, BOX, OR OTHER ACCESSORIES.
Some people find their Apple box sentimental to them. If your box is sentimental in value to you for any reason - DO NOT SEND IT TO US! WE FLATTEN THESE AND PUT THEM OUT WITH BAIL & GARBAGE COLLECTION NIGHTLY!
We are located in New York City, in a storefront. We have a total of 750 square feet, which four people utilize to repair dozens upon dozens of machines per day. We have shelving in place to house hundreds of machines, but not boxes. All boxes received will be broken down, cut up, and disposed of the moment they are received, no exceptions. We use new, fresh packaging to return your device to you - we never keep old, beat up packaging because it is more likely to break down in the shipping process than an unused box. If you send us your device in its original box, such as the box Apple sells you the Macbook in - you will not receive it back.
WE DO NOT NEED YOUR CHARGER FOR ANY APPLE LAPTOP OR IDEVICE. WE HAVE OUR OWN.
:-)
